USAID Southern Africa Livelihoods
Programme.
GIS has been used to target prime areas in Tanzania,
Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia for market-led agricultural
interventions as part of the IITA-managed Southern Africa
Livelihoods Programme. Enumerators in each of these
countries were trained in GPS techniques to undertake
baseline surveys to aid in monitoring effectiveness of the
programme.
